Before you commit to surgery
You’ve been told you need a knee or hip replacement and want a specialist’s independent read before you decide.
Get a fellowship-trained hip & knee replacement surgeon’s written opinion — without an office visit. Send your X-rays and tell us your story; within 5 business days you’ll have a clear, plain-English report: whether you appear to be a candidate for joint replacement, what your alternatives are, and exactly what to ask your doctor next.
A written records review by a surgeon who performs hip and knee replacement every week. It is not a visit and not an examination — it’s an expert’s written read of your X-rays and your story, built to make your decision (and your next conversation with your doctor) dramatically better informed. Your care stays with your own doctor.

The pain is real but nobody has laid out the options clearly. The report puts them side by side with honest tradeoffs.
No drive, no time off, no waiting room. Everything happens from your phone or computer.
This is a self-pay service that isn’t billed to insurance or Medicare, so anyone can purchase it. Your regular care continues under your normal coverage.
No. There is no video call, phone call, or examination. It’s a written records review — that’s what lets us offer it to anyone, at a flat price, on your schedule.
No — and by design. Because there is no examination or office visit, this is not a covered service under Medicare or insurance plans. It’s self-pay only, and no claim is submitted to anyone. Many patients can use HSA or FSA funds.
No. The review is a standalone product. It doesn’t change scheduling for anyone, and the fee is never credited toward any other care. If you later choose to be seen at TJS — or anywhere else — that happens through the normal process under your normal coverage.
X-rays are the heart of it — standing (weight-bearing) X-rays if you have them. A phone photo of the images from your patient portal works. MRI reports and office notes help but aren’t required. Our team can help you collect records after you start.

Georgia residents, any age, any coverage. If you have severe pain, a recent injury, fever, or sudden loss of function, this isn’t the right tool — contact your physician or seek emergency care.
10 minutes to submit · $795 flat · written opinion in 5 business days.
The TJV Remote Second Opinion is an educational written opinion based solely on the records and images you provide. No examination is performed and no in-person, phone, or video encounter occurs; it does not establish an ongoing treating physician–patient relationship, and the reviewing surgeon will not order tests, prescribe medication, or direct your treatment. It is not for emergencies. It is a self-pay service that is not a covered benefit under Medicare or any insurance plan; no claim is submitted, and the fee is your full and final cost. The fee is not a deposit toward, credit against, or condition of any future care, and purchasing a review does not affect access to, priority for, or pricing of any care. Currently available to Georgia residents.
